Meet Dr. Sembhi

I’m Aerin Sembhi, MD — an integrative and internal medicine physician based in Seattle, Washington.

I work with women whose symptoms cross systems and don’t fit neatly into one diagnosis.

Many of my patients have seen multiple providers already. They’ve been told their labs are “normal,” tried to push through symptoms, and still know something in their body doesn’t feel right.

Often, they’re dealing with overlapping concerns like:

• pelvic pain,
• fatigue and reduced exercise tolerance,
• hormone and cycle changes,
• inflammation and bodies that feel increasingly reactive,
• dizziness, headaches, or brain fog,
• digestive symptoms,
• autoimmune patterns,
• fertility or pregnancy loss,
• nutrient deficiencies,
• postpartum depletion,
• or mood changes that don’t feel fully explained by stress alone.

My role is to step back and look at the whole picture.

I’m double board certified in internal medicine and integrative medicine, with additional training in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Before founding Sembhi Integrative, I worked as a primary care physician and saw firsthand the limits of rushed, fragmented care for women with overlapping symptoms.

I also know what it feels like to be on the patient side of that experience.

As a medical student, I had irregular cycles. I tracked them carefully and brought the chart to my OB-GYN. She didn’t even look at it. I was sent for an ultrasound, told everything was “normal,” and sent home without any real explanation for what was causing my symptoms — or how to feel better.

It took years for me to understand what my body was trying to communicate and to rebuild my health in a sustainable way.

I know I’m not alone in that experience. Many women have spent years trying to make sense of symptoms that were minimized, disconnected from one another, or never fully explained. 

I strive to be the kind of physician I needed when I was younger — someone who takes women seriously, looks at how symptoms connect, and approaches the body as an integrated whole rather than a collection of separate systems.

I’m also a mother of four, which has deeply informed how I work with women through fertility, preconception, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the physical and emotional transitions of early motherhood.
